
As part of its ongoing efforts to deepen community involvement and ensure the success of its initiatives, the Ekiti State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project has held a Community Engagement Meeting at Erinfun, Ado-Ekiti.
Speaking at the event, the State Project Coordinator L-PRES, Mr. Olayinka Adedipe emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and host communities to ensure the smooth implementation and sustainability of the project.
Mr. Adedipe who was represented by the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer L-PRES, Dr. Odewale Tajudeen noted that the engagement was aimed at sensitizing stakeholders on the scope, benefits and timelines of the construction works under the L-PRES project.
Mr. Adedipe reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving livestock productivity and enhancing food security through infrastructural development and capacity building.
In his contribution, the Onikewo of Ikewo Erinfun Community, Prince Adewumi Aladesanmi lauded the initiative and assured the government of the community cooperation. He urged residents to protect and support the project for the benefit of all.
In his remarks, the Ebira Community Leader, Alfa Shaibu Jimoh described the project as timely, stressing that it would bring socio-economic benefits to the area.
He appealed for the inclusion of skilled youth and women in the project to ensure local participation and empowerment.
The Community Youth Leader, Mr. Mathew Akanya expressed appreciation to the L-PRES team and called for continuous engagement with youths to promote a sense of ownership and responsibility.
The engagement session served as a platform to clarify issues, strengthen partnerships and enhance mutual understanding between the project team and the host communities.
