The 4th Assembly of the Ekiti Youth Parliament has resolved to sit on June 11 every year in honour of late Deputy Speaker, 4th Assembly of the Ekiti Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Oluwadamilola Agbaje.
The resolution was passed during a special plenary session of the Youth Parliament held at the hallow chamber of the State House of Assembly in Ado Ekiti, to commemorate the late Youth Leader.
In his remarks during the plenary session, the State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji described the demise of late Rt. Hon. Agbaje as an irreparable loss that tragically denied the State of one of the promising leaders of tomorrow.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Gold Adedayo, Governor Oyebanji said the deceased was renowned for her excellent articulation, logical reasoning and clarity of thought, adding that she spoke with poise, conviction and confidence that was well beyond her age.
Oyebanji added that “Damilola represented the promise of the Ekiti future. Her brilliance shone like the rising sun; she was passionate, bold, beautiful and intelligent.
“It was sad that we lost her at the dawn of a glorious day; as she was at the point of finalizing her Bar examination when the sad incident occurred. Damilola would have taken the world by storm and her brilliance would have shown in high places in the course of her legal career.
“Painful as her death is to all of us, we should be consoled by the impact she made in her brief but eventful lifetime”.

Late Damilola graduated first class Honours with a 4.86 CGPA out of 5.00 in her Law degree programme from the Elizade University and diligently served as the Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State Youth parliament, where she tirelessly championed the aspirations of young people.
Apart from being Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti Youth Parliament, late Oluwadamilola reportedly served as Deputy Majority Leader of the 3rd Parliament of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative, founded by Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and was also a planning committee member for the upcoming 2025 International Law Organisation Annual Conference.
