EKITI L-PRES PROGRAMME STRESSES NEED FOR BROILER PROCESSORS TO BE CAPTURED IN FORTHCOMING MAPPING AND PROFILING OF LIVESTOCK FARMERS IN THE STATE.

The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Programme in Ekiti State has stressed the need for Broiler processors to be captured in the forthcoming mapping and profiling of livestock farmers in the state

The State Project Coordinator L-PRES, Mr. Olayinka Adedipe, who disclosed this in Ado Ekiti during a meeting with small scale broiler processors emphasized that as key stakeholders in the poultry value chain, broiler processors have to be properly captured under the forthcoming mapping exercise

He explained that the Jotform application designed by experts at the National Coordination Office of L-PRES would be used for the mapping and profiling of livestock farmers and their farms during the exercise

The Project Coordinator reiterated the commitment of the World Bank and the Ekiti State Government to focus on poultry, Sheep/Goat, Pig and Cattle/diary value chains under the L-PRES Programme.

In her contribution, Mrs Adenike Omoleye, Value Chain Officer for L-PRES advised Broiler Processors to process birds in safe and hygienic environment.

Earlier in her remarks, Mrs Olubunmi Ajayi, Extension Officer L-PRES gave insights on the Jotform App for mapping and profiling.

She discussed the step-by-step guide on the app and explained that the geographical locations of farms is very key in mapping.

Mrs Seriki Omobolanle and Mr. Emmanuel Olamidotun thanked Ekiti State Government for bringing the World Bank project to the door steps of livestock farmers in the State.

Earlier the group highlighted some of their challenges and solicited for the assistance of World Bank/Ekiti State Government to improve their businesses and enjoy good returns on investment.
