THE STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL APPROVED THE FOLLOWING AMONG OTHERS:
1. Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) 2026-2027and presentation of document to the State House of Assembly for legislative processing and passage.
The MTEF document which is made up of Medium Term Sectoral Strategy (MTSS) and Multi – Year Budget Framework (MYBF), is a prerequisite for the preparation of the 2026 Budget and prepared by the State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning with the involvement of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and other Stakeholders in compliance with Part 2, Section 13, Sub-section 1 of Ekiti State Fiscal Responsibility (First amendment) Law, 2020.
The fiscal document took into consideration, the prevailing global macro-economic indices as they affect Nigeria as a whole, and Ekiti State in particular. The Parameters, Assumptions and Indicators (PAIs) considered include the global oil price benchmark, exchange rate of Naira to Dollar, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Crude Oil Production (MBPD) and inflation rate. It is imperative to State that the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has advised the States on uniform Parameters, Assumption and Indicators (PAIs) to be adopted for the preparation of 2026-2028 MTEF document. Arising from the Parameters. Assumption and Indicators, the revenue projections for the period 2026-2028 are as follows.

2. Upgrading of the Primary Healthcare Facilities at Ikogosi Ekiti, Ipao Ekiti and Awo Ekiti to Secondary Health Facilities in Ekiti State.
The approval to upgrade the Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities to General Hospitals and expand access to secondary-level healthcare in key growth regions was borne out of the need to strengthen service delivery to match increasing population, economic activity and advance equitable distribution of health services in line with appropriate State’s law.
The increased demand for stronger health services in the identified areas was necessitated by the rising influx of visitors to tourism sites such as Ikogosi Resort, and the growing population in farm settlements and other thriving communities which has led to increased agricultural yields in the Ipao-Oke Ako-Itapaji axis following the implementation of strategic development plan identifies agriculture and tourism as major drivers of economic growth. The approval to upgrade the facilities to General Hospitals, is thus, to expand access to secondary-level healthcare in the key growth regions.
The State Executive Council noted that while the PHC facilities form the basis of healthcare system and provide first-contact services such as consultations, immunizations, maternal and child health, and the management of minor illnesses, the General Hospitals as Secondary Healthcare Facilities are equipped with specialists like surgeons, pediatricians, physicians with the core mandate on diagnostic services, laboratories, radiology, inpatient wards, and emergency care units.
3. The appointment of Prince Agbaje Gbenga as Eesalokun of Ilukuno Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area.
With the approval, Prince Agbaje Gbenga of the Aulodobiosupa Ruling House will succeed the immediate past Oba Festus Adebayo Jegede was from Okeorobiapo Ruling House.
The throne became vacant on 13th Apri1, 2024 following the demise of Oba Festus Adebayo Jegede.
The provision of the Chiefs Law (2012) was strictly adhered to in the selection of Prince Agbaje Gbenga as the Eesalokun of Ilukuno Ekiti.
Eesalokun of Ilukuno Ekiti is a Recognized Chieftaincy in line with Part I, Section 3 (1) of the Chiefs Edicts (1984) Cap C5 Law of Ekiti State and Ilukuno Ekiti has a Registered Chieftaincy Declaration that established three (3) Ruling Houses namely: Aulodobiosupa, Agbegileegun and Okeorobiapo, with six (6) Kingmakers who performs the roles of filling vacant stool of Eesalokun of Ilukuno Ekiti.
The State Executive Council (SEC) also authorized the publication of the appointment as legal notice in the State Government Gazette.
4. Inclusion of Omiye Microfinance Bank in the One billion naira (N1,000,000,000.00) EKSG/Access Bank Women Initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and boosting economic activities in the State.
The approval is aimed at boosting disbursement process with malleable loan models which is much simpler and direct to accommodate those that have been earlier disqualified for disbursement.
Please recall that Ekiti State Government (EKSG) in partnership with Access Bank launched a One-billion naira (N1,000,000,000.00) Women Business initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and boosting economic activities in the State.
The approval is expected to us removing all the bottlenecks in the disbursement process such that all applicants, including the earlier disqualified ones now stand a chance to be reconsidered for disbursement.
5. Termination of the contract for the reconstruction of Ifaki-Esure-Eyio-Awo road.
The contract for the Reconstruction of Ifaki-Esure-Eyio-Awo Road was awarded to Messrs. Immobiliare Construction Limited on 25th February, 2022 at a sum of one billion, eight hundred and fifty two million, six hundred and ninety seven thousand, two hundred and fifty six naira, sixteen kobo (N1,852,697,256.16) only.
Termination of the contract was premised on the failure of the contractor to mobilize to site in spite of several efforts to make him do so, after receiving the award notification and submitted an acceptance letter.
The termination and need to re-award the project became imperative due to the significance of the road to the socio-economic growth of Ekiti and the negative impact of the failure of the contractor on the present administration’s commitment to road infrastructural development.
Approval was therefore given to re-award the job to a competent contractor that will be ready for a timely execution of the project and according to specification.
6. Procurement of the two thousand wheelie bins.
Approval to purchase the wheelie bins is aimed to strengthen the capacity of the State Waste Management Authority in ensuring effective waste evacuation across the State.
The procurement of the wheelie bins will also expected to significantly curb indiscriminate dumping of waste in undesignated public and private spaces, drainages and canals.
The decision is a reflection of the genuine commitment of the State Government to rid the State of waste and harmful substances that can cause environmental pollution, flooding and health hazards.
It is also a testament of Government’s focus on improving service delivery through the provision of essential infrastructure.
The wheelie bins are to be procured through Direct Procurement from AGIVILLE INDUSTRIES LTD in compliance with the Ekiti State Procurement (Re-Enactment) Law, 2020 and delivered within three months.
7. The upgrading and completion of Iyin Water Supply Scheme, Iyin Ekiti and Ikogosi/Erijiyan Water Supply Scheme under the SURWASH programme.
The approval was aimed to improve access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene services by strengthening sector institutions. On completion, the projects are expected to provide 420,000 liters of water daily for over 9,200 residents at Iyin Ekiti and environs as well as 1.2million liters of water per day for about 5,400 residents of Ikogosi and Erijiyan Ekiti.
Ekiti State is participating in the World Bank-supported Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene (SURWASH) Programme, which is now in its fifth year. The upgrading and completion of the Iyin Ekiti Water Supply Scheme is necessary to build on existing progress in water provision.
The projects are to be completed within 10months.
8. Rehabilitation of Ijan Booster Station and stabilization of Ado-Ijan transmission mains.
The approval is aimed to upscale the capacity of the water Booster Station to deliver potable water to designated areas like Ekiti Knowledge Zone, Afe Babalola University, Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Odo Ado axis, the Ekiti State Agro-Allied International Airport and the Nigeria Institute of Transport. The project is also expected to reduce leaks and breaks by keeping the pipeline stable to avoid water loss, property damage and potential health hazards.
The project, which is in continuation of the rehabilitation of water supply facilities by the Ekiti State Government through SURWASH programn for results (PforR) will includerehabilitation of the dilapidating structure at the Ijan Booster Station and stabilization of Ado-Ijan damaged trunk mains,rehabilitation of the Booster Station and stabilization of water pipeline project aims to deliver sufficient potable water from Egbe dam to the people of its catchment area and Ekiti State in general.
The scope of works to be carried includes bush clearing, cleaning and disinfection of reservoir, excavation and back filling of pipeline trench, installation of 250KVA generator and 300KVA transformer, construction of star delta starter and electrification of pump house among others.
The contractor has six months completion period.
9. Additional supply and installation of medical equipment to Ilawe, Efon-Alaaye and Oke-Imesi Ekiti General hospitals
The approval was necessitated by the marked increase in utilization of health care services in all General Hospitals in the State including the three General Hospitals not initially covered due to the increased public awareness of the administration’s excellent strides in the health sector.
