
The Special Adviser to the Ekiti State Governor on Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has reiterated the commitment of the Administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to the welfare of workers in the state public service
Rt Hon. Olatunbosun gave the assurance during the year 2025 NASU Day Celebration organized by the Ado Local Government Chapter of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions (NASU)
According to him, the Governor’s commitment to the workers is evident in the various initiatives and policies implemented by the administration, aimed at promoting the well-being and productivity of the state’s workforce.
The Special Adviser highlighted the programmes and policies on the Oyebanji under which members of NASU have benefitted include: regular Promotion of staff, recruitment of staff into the State Public Service especially the recently concluded recruitment of over 1800 teaching teaching and non teaching staff by the State Teaching Service Commission, the renovation of facilities in schools which has greatly improved the teaching and learning environment in schools, regular promotion of workers , as well as the elongation of career progression of Graduate Bursars in secondary schools in the State from Grade Level 14 to 15 and the substantial increase in subvention paid by the Government to State own Tertiary Institutions in the State by Governor Oyebanji.
Rt. Hon Olatunbosun acknowledged the significant contributions of NASU members to the development of the state and particularly in supporting the Oyebanji administration to accomplish it’s ongoing reforms in the educational sector in the State
While lauding members of the union for being diligent in the discharge of duties, he appealed for the union’s continued support for Governor Oyebanji’s administration to achieve further successes in the education sector.
Earlier in their remarks, the NASU Chairman, Ekiti State Council, Prince Adekunle Adeniyi, and the Association’s Ado Local Government Chairperson, Mrs. Iyabo Daramola, commended the Governor Oyebanji-led administration for demonstrating exceptional commitment to the welfare of workers in the state.
They emphasized that the role of NASU members is crucial to the growth and development of education in the society, stressing that their contributions can noted in be overemphasized.
The duo appealed to the government to continue prioritizing the welfare of the organization and its members, while also giving urgent attention to their demands. They pledged the support of the entire 7000 members of the union in the State for the Oyebanji Administration.
On his part, the Chairman Planning Committee, Pastor Idowu Olatunbosun noted that the program was organized to celebrate the commitment and dedication of Non academic staff across all schools and colleges within Ado local government and the state at large.
