EKSG ASSURES NYSC OF SECURITY FOR CORPS MEMBERS

Ekiti State Government has assured National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in the State of adequate security of their lives and property.

The State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Gold Adedayo gave the assurance in Ado Ekiti at the maiden meeting of the National Youth Service Corps Governing Board (NYSC).

Reiterating the commitment of the State government to the welfare of the youths in the State, Mr. Adedayo stressed the importance of the NYSC scheme to nation building and development.

He promised that Corps members would be accorded the respect they deserved in the State while in the service of their fatherland, stressing that people in the State are hospitable and would not do anything to ridicule them.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Alhaji Riko Abdullah Shuaib had highlighted the challenges of NYSC in the State to include, perimeter fencing of the Orientation Camp, security of the camp/Corps members, beds and mattresses, chairs, lecture hall to cater adequately for the welfare of Corps members deployed to the State.

Riko also solicited the provision of Office accommodation that would serve as the NYSC Permanent Secretariat in the State as well as a standard transit lodge for Corps members in the Local Government Areas of the State.
