
Students of Secondary Schools in Ekiti State have been encouraged to imbibe the ethos of Omoluabi and to promote the principles of honour and integrity in line with the of cardinal objectives of the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The Director-General, Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship (BCOC), Mrs. Olawumi Famuyiwa made the call during a sensitization programme held in some public secondary schools in Ado Ekiti.

Mrs. Famuyiwa urged students to embrace the ethical values of Ekiti, which include hardwork, decency, honesty, integrity, respect for elders, commitment to hard work and dignity of labour.
She emphasized the importance of advocating the adoption of good morals and rejecting social vices such as absenteeism, examination malpractice, the pursuit of quick wealth, cultism and ritual killings.
The Director-General highlighted the importance of these values in shaping the character of the youth.
As part of steps to the instill these values, she recommended the introduction of the poem, “Ise Loogun Ise” for students to recite daily in schools, reminding them that their actions must align with the theme of the poem.
Earlier, the Director of Evaluation and Standards Department, Mr. Samuel Abodunde who represented the Ekiti State Ministry of Education at the forum, highlighted several achievements of Governor Oyebanji’s administration in the education sector, which include the provision of free education in public schools, timely payment of teachers’ salaries, renovation of dilapidated school buildings and the distribution of laboratory equipment to enhance science education.

He encouraged students and teachers to be diligent and to value government’s investment in education.
In her remarks, the Principal of David Oke Model College, Mrs. Racheal Olaiya commended the present administration for its commitment to providing quality and free education, which has enhanced the quality of life for citizens.
