
… as two Ekiti boxers cruise into next round in boxing preliminaries
Ekiti State has won another bronze medal at the ongoing 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival tagged “Gateway games 2025 in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The bronze medal was won by Yaya Omolara in the Women’s single of the game of Ayo Olopon.
Team Ekiti also commenced it’s pursuit for medals in the game of boxing with two of its boxers vanquishing their opponents to move to the next round of the competition.
Aboderin Ramadan from Team Ekiti defeated Olaiya Quadri from FCT in the 55kg male category preliminary while Wole Omotola from the State also overcame Emmanuel Kingsley from Niger State in the 65kg category
Ekiti boxers in other weight classes will continue their quest for medals as the competition continues into the first week.
In the same vein, Team Ekiti defeated Sokoto 3-1 in the badminton men’s team event.
Meanwhile, Ekiti will be taking part in the game of Golf, Tennis and other postponed games as the quest for medals continues.
