The State Endorsement Committee for the re-election of His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has formally announced the constitution of Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) in all the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Ekiti State.

The LOCs as announced by the Secretary of the Committee, Rt. Hon. Karounwi Oladapo, is comprised of respected community leaders, youth representatives, women stakeholders, party loyalists, and civil society influencers, have been tasked with coordinating local engagement, policy sensitization, and inclusive mobilization ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial elections.

The Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the Endorsement Committee, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, explained that the “setting up of the LOC was part of efforts to ensure proper planning and management of the unified Statewide validation of series of endorsements of an extraordinary leader that is not only performing well but also functions as a bridge that has united all past and present political leaders as well as connected all stakeholders transcending political, social and religious leanings”.

Stressing the importance of community-based grassroots approach, Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun clarified that their primary responsibility is to manage the forthcoming endorsement event from the grassroots level towards ensuring a peaceful and orderly programme that cannot be hijacked to disrupt the prevailing peace in the state.

Olatunbosun said “everybody loves BAO, and he has received widespread commendation for his focus on inclusive governance, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and fiscal discipline. From pensioners to artisans, labour unions, traditional institutions, youth and women groups, there has been a consistent outpouring of support.

“Even non-partisan individuals and organizations that cut across political, religious, and social divides have endorsed Governor Oyebanji for second term. The LOCs are expected to therefore build on these achievements and work towards ensuring a flawless programme”.
