The Ekiti United Football Club has secured a place in the Nigeria National League (NNL)and thus will be participating in the League in the 2025/2026 Football season.

The Technical Advisor to the Ekiti State Governor on Sports Development, Dr.Olusola Osetoba made this known in statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti

Osetoba explained that though the team was unable to secure promotion to the Nigerian National League through the National League One (NLO) last season after the spirited efforts of the team fell through at the very last stage of the play-off, she however noted that Ekiti United will compete in the 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season after acquiring the slot of a team opting out of the competition

According to Osetoba, “the League Management body provided the window for any club to acquire a club in the NNL that was opting out of the league and we have taken that advantage.
I am officially informing the general public that Ekiti United has secured a space in the Nigeria National League and will thus be participating in the 2025/2026 NNL Football season.”

She commended the support of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for sports development and for actualizing the vision of sports lovers in the State for Ekiti United to play in the professional league.

Osetoba who solicited the support of sports lovers in the State for the team , assured that Ekiti United will represent the State well in the 2025/2026 NNL Football season.

She urged the people of the State to also support the team by always attending their home games and cheering the team to victory
