Special Adviser to the Ekiti State Governor on Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has attributed the massive support for Governor Oyebanji with an impressive turnout of people during the submission of the governor’s nomination form to his total acceptance by all strata of the State for a second term in office.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti, while featuring on a live radio programme with the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun said the turnout was a reflection of the absolute and unreserved acceptance of the Governor for the continuation of his good works, rapid development, accountability and inclusive governance where all members of society participate in and influence decision-making processes.
Governor Oyebanji was accompanied by an unprecedented huge number of state and national leaders, elected officials, and critical stakeholders in the state in a massive display of support when he submitted his nomination form for the 2026 governorship election in the state at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
Describing the gathering as a testament to Governor Oyebanji’s popularity, Olatunbosun said it was a confirmation of the satisfaction of Ekiti people with the governor’s administration and their desire for continuity of his good governance.
In his remarks, the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, stressed that the Abuja trip was at no cost to the State Government, adding that groups and individuals were responsible for their welfare out of their own volition in a display of their corporate and individual support for the second term bid.
He noted that over 300 groups had openly declared support for the Governor’s second term in office, adding that some groups like the Ekiti State University Alumni, even backed their commitment with financial contributions to secure the governor’s primary election ticket.
“It was like moving the entire Ekiti,” Oyebode said emphasizing that the state bore no cost.
“Instead, the Abuja gathering showcased Ekiti’s growing political weight and the respect the governor commands across the country”.
According to the duo, Governor Oyebanji has kept every campaign promise, and highlighted his achievements to include development of the education sector where free, qualitative schooling has led to increased enrollment over the last three years, adding that the administration also ensured that no project is commissioned except fully completed.
“The wellness of the people is paramount,” Oyebode said, underscoring the governor’s strict adherence to standards, adding that “this explains the enormous Agricultural transformation with State-backed support in equipment, seedlings, land clearing, and access to markets.
