
The Ekiti State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to women’s economic empowerment through the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up (NFWP-SU), describing the programme as a strategic platform for inclusive growth and sustainable development.
The Chairman of the State Multi-Sectoral Coordinating Structure and Chief of Staff to the Governor,Mr Oyeniyi Adebayo, gave the assurance during a team-bonding workshop organised to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders responsible for implementing the programme in the state.
Adebayo reiterated Gov. Biodun Oyebanji’s strong support for the project, noting that the administration remained committed to policies and programmes that uplift women and enhance community development.
He emphasised that effective implementation of the scale-up phase required the right attitude, professionalism and teamwork from all actors involved.
Adebayo urged members of the State Coordinating Unit and partners to remain focused and dedicated to achieving measurable impact across benefiting communities.

In her keynote address, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Peju Babafemi, described the programme as a transformative intervention designed to strengthen women affinity groups and improve household livelihoods. She charged participants to uphold transparency, accountability and integrity in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Sola Adeluyi, highlighted the importance of institutional synergy and strict adherence to operational guidelines to ensure sustainability and long-term success of the initiative.
Also speaking, the Ekiti State Project Coordinator, Mrs Toyin Familoni, said the team-bonding exercise was aimed at enhancing unity, effective communication and coordinated service delivery.
She commended the commitment of stakeholders and encouraged continuous collaboration to drive the programme’s objectives.
The event was attended by a delegation from Ogun, led by the Ogun State Project Coordinator, Mrs Bolanle Fadairo, who shared experiences and best practices to promote inter-state learning within the NFWP-SU framework.
The team-bonding initiative underscores the Ekiti State Government’s resolve to ensure that the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up delivers sustainable socio-economic benefits to women and strengthens grassroots development across the state.
