Ekiti BSP holds Free medical tests for Staff

No fewer than 89 members of staff of the Ekiti State Bureau of Public Projects have benefited from a free medical test organised by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects, Hon. Olubunmi Talabi.

The one-day health intervention programme included eye examinations, blood sugar and blood pressure tests, as well as health talks and medical counselling conducted by a team from the Government House Clinic.

Mr Talabi said the exercise was organised to promote the health and wellbeing of staff, noting that healthy workers would be more productive in their duties.

Speaking before the commencement of the program the Special Adviser urged staff members to take advantage of the opportunity to know their health status and follow the advice of medical professionals.

He emphasised the importance of good health to economic prosperity and productivity, encouraging the workers to adopt healthy lifestyles through proper diet and regular exercise.

In a health talk , the leader of the medical team and Government House physician, Dr Yomi Osatimehin, said poor dietary habits were a major cause of many illnesses.

He advised the staff to be mindful of what they eat and drink, and to engage in simple but regular exercises such as walking.

Dr Osatimehin also highlighted the importance of maintaining a positive outlook, noting that activities that promote happiness and laughter could contribute to overall wellbeing.
