The Ekiti State Government has announced that the May environmental sanitation exercise will hold on Saturday, 30th May 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. across all Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
The exercise, themed “A Clean Environment is Everyone’s Responsibility: Stop Illegal Dumping of Sewage and Hazardous Substances,” seeks to promote cleanliness, prevent disease outbreaks, and safeguard public health.
State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Erelu Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, said there will be no restrictions on human or vehicular movement during the exercise due to the working visit of the Wife of the President to the state.
She however urged residents to participate by cleaning their homes, drains, surroundings, and business premises.
According to her, market women are expected to have cleaned their shops on Thursday, while public servants will tidy their offices on Friday.
