Ekiti Govt. Assures of Continued Partnership with the media, Urges Responsible Broadcasting

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to partnering with credible media organisations to promote accurate information, good governance and sustainable development.

Olatunbosun gave the assurance on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti while receiving the management of Mature Minds Digital Radio during a courtesy visit to his office.

The commissioner said the Biodun Oyebanji administration remained committed to maintaining a conducive environment for responsible media practice and would continue to collaborate with media organisations that uphold professionalism and ethical standards.

According to him, the prevailing peace, progress and growing investor confidence in the state are products of the purposeful and inclusive leadership of Gov. Biodun Oyebanji.

He said the outcome of the recent governorship election reflected the confidence of Ekiti people in the administration’s vision and development agenda.

Olatunbosun urged the online radio station to remain professional, balanced and objective in its reportage, stressing the need to distinguish public opinion from verified facts.

He added that the government enjoyed cordial relationships with media organisations and remained open to partnerships that aligned with its communication objectives and regulatory standards.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Mature Minds Digital Radio, Mr Odunayo Ehinafe commended the Oyebanji administration for strengthening the state’s media landscape and enhancing public awareness of government programmes and policies.

He said the Ministry of Information had improved the visibility of government activities through effective collaboration with media organisations.

He described Mature Minds Digital Radio as a 24-hour online broadcasting platform with about 15 staff members committed to factual and responsible journalism.

The visit ended with both parties reaffirming their commitment to promoting truthful reporting, strengthening public engagement and supporting initiatives aimed at advancing the development of Ekiti State.
