The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has concluded its three-day Computer-Based Test (CBT) for applicants seeking teaching appointments in the state’s basic education sector.
The Board announced that only candidates who scored 50 per cent and above would be shortlisted for the next stage of the recruitment process, which will involve an oral interview and micro-teaching assessment.
Ekiti SUBEB Executive Chairman, Prof. Femi Akinwumi, who disclosed this in Ado-Ekiti, said the interviews will hold from Tuesday, August 25, to Friday, August 28, 2026, at the SUBEB Model Basic School, opposite the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Ado-Ekiti.
Akinwumi said interviews will begin at 8:00 a.m. daily, as scheduled below:
- Tuesday, Aug. 25 – 493 candidates who scored 60% and above
- Wednesday, Aug. 26 – 515 candidates who scored 55%–59.5%
- Thursday, Aug. 27 – 490 candidates who scored 52%–54.5%
- Friday, Aug. 28 – 420 candidates who scored 50%–51.5%
He advised shortlisted candidates to monitor their email addresses regularly, as CBT results will be sent electronically. Candidates should dress appropriately and bring original certificates and other relevant documents for verification. He reiterated that candidates without their original qualification certificates should not bother coming.

Akinwumi thanked the Governor for his support and approval of the recruitment exercise. He also thanked the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. (Mrs) Bimpe Aderiye, for her support throughout the process, and commended the Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Education for its oversight and presence at the examination venue. He also praised Board members for their unity and dedication to the overall success of the exercise.
He specifically appreciated the consultants at Ekiti State University under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joseph Ayodele, as well as the university’s Director of ICT, Prof. Salami, and his technical team, for sustaining the integrity of the CBT and providing seamless logistics.
The chairman reaffirmed the Oyebanji administration’s commitment to strengthening the teaching workforce, bridging manpower gaps, and improving teaching and learning quality in basic education, stressing that “the future of Ekiti children would not be compromised.”
The Board congratulated candidates who met the cut-off mark and wished them success at the interview stage, while commending Gov. Biodun Oyebanji for his continued investment in human capital development at the foundational level of education.
