….Lauds Efforts of Security Agencies to make State Safe and Crime Free

Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has stressed the importance of reporting suspicious activities in any part of the State to security agencies to support the efforts of Government at making the State safe and secured.

Reacting to the apprehension of suspected kidnappers involved in the abduction of some school children and their teachers in Emure, Ekiti State recently, Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun noted that the breakthrough reportedly came following a “credible tipoff” to the Police.

Olatunbosun who reiterated the commitment of the State Government to security of lives and property, assured that no stone is being left unturned towards ridding the State of all forms of crimes and criminality especially kidnapping and banditry.

The Commissioner commended the efforts of the security agencies to protect and defend the State against any security threats, noting that the recent reinforcement of security outfits in the State is already making an impact.

He however emphasized that reporting suspicious activities remained an important tool in the fight against crime and is used to help detect and prevent illegal activity, identify and apprehend criminals as well as protect national security.

According to him, reporting doubtful activities provides law enforcement with valuable information on potential criminality and invariably protects the people while ignoring similar activities may put individuals at risk of harm as well as allow criminal activities to thrive, leading to more crime in the neighborhood.

He stressed that “reporting any suspicious behavior or unfamiliar vehicles that appear out of the ordinary can help local law enforcement agencies take action toward reducing criminal activity. Understanding what activities to look for is crucial in ensuring safety and security within your neighborhood”.

Olatunbosun assured that the State Government would not be deterred in the task of guaranteeing sustainable freedom of citizens from any form of arbitrary intrusion and harm.
