
Ekiti State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has rolled out the cost implications of the State Land Tractorization Scheme as well as the subsidy payable by the State Government.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, disclosed that the State Government would pay N35,000 making 50% of the going rate charge of N70,000 for ploughing a hectare of land and the benefitting farmers would be responsible for the remaining N35,000 per hectare while Government would pay N22,500 being another 50% of N45,000 for harrowing/ridging per hectare and the benefiting farmers would pay the remaining N22,500 per hectare.
The Commissioner assured that the State Government would subsidize ploughing and harrowing/ridging up to a maximum of five hectares for each benefitting farmer under the scheme.

He however cautioned farmers against paying any money before proper farmland visitation and mapping by Extension Officer, stressing that all payments should be made to the official bank account of the Ekiti State Ministry of Agric with account number 0070819402 domiciled with Sterling Bank Plc.

Sir Ekiti being agrarian State I will suggest that your government sir aquire 20heatres from each old 16local government areas for palm tree projects, the crop is having a lot of value added chain that will boast investments in industry and help the state to prepare for the future of our youth sir.
