The Ekiti State monthly environmental sanitation exercise will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
The theme for this month’s exercise is “SANITATION AND HYGIENE: KEY TO CHOLERA PREVENTION.”
The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Erelu Tosin Aluko Ajisafe, emphasized the critical importance of maintaining clean environments and proper hygiene practices, especially in light of recent concerns regarding public health and the prevention of cholera outbreaks.
Erelu Aluko Ajisafe stated that the exercise aims to underscore these points and ensure a healthier Ekiti State. She called on all residents to actively participate in cleaning their surroundings and ensuring proper waste disposal.
“I urge all citizens to comply with this directive and contribute to a cleaner, healthier Ekiti State. Together, we can prevent cholera and other sanitation-related diseases,” the commissioner stated.
Government workers are expected to clean up their offices on Friday, June 28, in preparation for the exercise. This is a collective effort to maintain a healthy environment for all.
