
Ekiti State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Kehinde Ajobiewe has solicited the cooperation of Stakeholders in the Transportation Sector and people of the State in ensuring the success of measures being put in place by the State Government and Security Agencies to curb
unlawful activities within the sector.
The Commissioner made the plea in Ado-Ekiti during a meeting with Heads of Security Agencies in the State and Stakeholders’ in the transportation sector to address pressing issues concerning the activities of private and commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators in the State.
The Commissioner emphasized the need for stakeholders to cooperate with Government in its ongoing efforts noting that as part of the new directives, all motorcyclists and tricyclists in the State would be required to provide their biodata to the appropriate authorities.

Mr. Ajobiewe stated that the proposed measures are aimed at improving security, ensuring the safety of both riders and passengers as well as checkmating the activities of criminal elements operating on motorcycles in the State
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Oladiran Olatona stressed that the new Government directives are critical to maintaining order and security in Ekiti State adding that the registration and documentation will be decentralised to make it easy for motorcyclists and tricyclists to complete the process without hindering their daily business activities.
The stakeholders’ meeting later dovetailed into a close door session.
Present at the meeting were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Brig General Ebenezer Ogundana Rtd; the Commander 32 Artillery Brigade,Akure, Brigadier General JR Lar; Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Mr Akinwale Kunle Adeniran; Commandant NDLEA in Ekiti State, Commander Sunday Aina and the Sector Commandant, FRSC, Commander Olusola Joseph. Others include the Director General, Home Intelligence, Mr Dotun Adetuberu; Representative of the DSS, Solomon Muritala; Commandant of the Amotekun Corps in the State, Brig Gen Ademola Ibukun Rtd; the Representative of Civil Defence DCC Adegbayibi Adebayo; the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Mr Adebayo Abulola and other top Government officials.
