The Ekiti State Government has said that Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools in the state would resume for the 2024/2025 Academic Session on Tuesday, 17th September, 2024.
A statement signed by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Mrs. Olabimpe Aderiye (mni), made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti said that the change in resumption date is due to the declaration of Monday, 16th September 2024, as public holiday by the federal government.

She said that the first-term academic session for the calendar year will run for 13 weeks as Schools will resume on Tuesday, 17th September, 2024 and vacate for the first term holiday on Friday, 13th December, 2024.
The Commissioner urged all stakeholders to team up with the government to promote academic and moral excellence in schools in the state, assuring them of government’s commitment to its shared prosperity mantra.
