
Ekiti State Government has approved the relocation of Students of Baptist Secondary School, Ikere to the new Model College, Ikere-Ekiti with effect from Monday, 28th October, 2024.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye explained that the decision was premised on the commitment of the State Government to provide a conducive learning environment that would guarantee the safety of both students and teachers.

Dr. Aderiye added that the directive also followed a request of the Parents Teachers Association of the School and the School Based Management Committee (SBMC) for relocation of the students to a more suitable site.
Soliciting the continued support of all stakeholders in the efforts at providing a free, compulsory and qualitative education up to senior secondary school level, Aderiye advised parents and guardians of students of the school to ensure compliance in the interest of their children and wards.

This is a welcome development.Arrangements should be made for both the teaching and non teaching staff and the students to get to the school in time.Kudos to the government of Governor BAO for taking this bold step.
