
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has stressed the readiness of the State Government to partner with the National Automotive Council (NAC) to develop specialized training programmes that will equip youths in the State with the skills needed to thrive in the automotive industry, particularly in emerging technologies like electric vehicles and automotive software development.
The Governor made the pledge at at the opening of a three-day Strategic Management Retreat of the National Automotive Design and Development Council held at the Ikogosi Warm Springs Tourist Resort, Ikogosi-Ekiti.
Oyebanji who spoke through the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Habibat Adubiaro called on research institutions and private sector players in Ekiti State to collaborate with the NAC on automotive-related research, with a focus on localizing production and developing innovative solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of the nation

He said the State Government was committed to promoting environmentally friendly practices in the automotive industry, stressing that Government was looking forward to learning from the experiences and best practices shared during this retreat as it hoped that the forum will yield tangible outcomes that will positively impact the automotive industry in Nigeria.
