
The September edition of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise will hold on Saturday, 27th September, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m in all Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the State.
This theme.of this month’s exercise, “Healthy Living Through Clean Environment,” encourages residents to take personal responsibility for their surroundings.
A statement from the Office of Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, said all markets and commercial centres will remain closed, while movement will be restricted during the exercise hours, except for those on essential duties.
The statement urged residents to actively participate by sweeping their surroundings, clearing blocked drainages, desilting gutters, weeding, and properly disposing of their waste.
It further directed traders across the State to clean their stalls and market environments on Thursday during the weekly market sanitation, while civil servants and other workers are expected to clean their office spaces on Friday.

The statement added that Environmental Health Officers, NGOs, and security agencies will monitor compliance, and defaulters will be prosecuted by mobile courts.
