
The Permanent Secretary of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr. Michael Omolayo, has called on staff of the Board to put in their best towards the realization of the six-pillar developmental agenda of the present administration in the state.
The Permanent Secretary who gave the charge in Ado-Ekiti during his maiden meeting with management and staff of the Board emphasized the need for team work and cooperation among staff in order to ensure the success of the ongoing reforms State’s education Sector.
He said as main drivers of government polices and programmes, staff should prioritize self-development as only well trained and enlightened personnel can bring about the desired change in the education sector .
Omolayo urged heads of departments in the board to lead by example, foster teamwork, and support the implementation of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration agenda.
“Let us channel our strengths and positive energy towards ensuring that the State retains it pride of place as one of the leading light in education”, Omolayo said.
He urged the staff not to misconstrue challenges for problems, stressing that every challenge is surmountable to pave ways forward. “Challenges are not problems, but opportunities to grow and improve. Let us not misconstrue them.” He said.
He encouraged staff to prioritize self-development, acquire new skills, especially as the entire world is going digital and innovate to add value to the system.
“We are here to serve the people of Ekiti State, and we must do it with excellence,” Omolayo said.
The meeting marked the beginning of a new era of collaboration and progress at Ekiti SUBEB as prayers were rendered for divine protection and guidance of everyone as well as successful tenure of the new Permanent Secretary.
