…Says registration fully paid for
The Ekiti State Government has advised the 3,400 beneficiaries of its Free UTME Registration Initiative not to pay any additional fee under any guise to any registration centre to access their registration pins, emphasizing that all approved candidates have been fully paid for by the Government.
The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. (Mrs.) Kofoworola Aderiye, mni, gave the advice during a monitoring visit to selected registration centres to assess the smooth take-off of the state-sponsored exercise.
Dr. Aderiye reiterated that the State Government’s free JAMB and WAEC registration initiatives are designed to remove financial barriers to higher education and empower students—particularly those from underserved backgrounds, to pursue their academic and career aspirations.
“The government has paid for these forms in full. Candidates selected under this intervention are not expected to make any additional payment whatsoever. Any request for extra charges is unauthorized and should be reported immediately,” she stated.
She therefore urged the benefiting JAMB candidates to promptly report any demand for money before accessing their registration pins to the State Ministry of Education, stressing that under no circumstance should any beneficiary be required to pay extra fees for pin access, form processing, or any related service.
The Commissioner explained that the monitoring visit was aimed at identifying operational challenges, ensuring strict compliance with government directives, and guiding candidates to complete their registration accurately to avoid costly errors that could jeopardize their admission prospects. She assured that monitoring teams would continue to supervise all approved centres to guarantee transparency, accountability, and a seamless registration process for every beneficiary.

It will be recalled that the Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, recently flagged off the State’s free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) e-PIN distribution to 3,400 beneficiaries.
Since Governor Biodun Oyebanji assumed office, no fewer than 12,000 students have benefited from the Ekiti State Government’s free JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms programme.
The programme underscores the administration’s strong commitment to human capital development through education, promotes equity in access to opportunities, and eases the financial burden of examination fees on parents and guardians.
