OYEBANJI’S AIDE ORGANISES FREE HEALTH MISSION FOR FARMERS TO BOOST FOOD PRODUCTION

Over 500 farmers and farm managers from Ekiti State farm settlements benefited from the second edition of the BAO Free Health Mission, organised by Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Farm Settlement, Mr. Temitope Adewole.

The initiative complemented the state government’s efforts to promote farmer well-being, essential for food security and agricultural productivity. Services included free eye exams, eyeglasses, dental care, health talks, diabetes and hypertension screening, and treatment.

Adewole stated the initiative supports Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s development agenda, particularly in agriculture. He highlighted Oyebanji’s initiatives boosting food surplus: free land clearing, 50% subsidy on agro-chemicals, seedlings, and tractorization.

Beneficiaries appreciated the state government’s welfare focus and agricultural sector strengthening. Mr. Ayo Ogunleye on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the government for investing in agriculture, pledging farmers’ dedication to achieving food production goals.

The Ekiti Commissioner for Wealth, Otunba Kayode Fasae linked the program to ‘Health is Wealth’. SSA Values Orientation, Oyeyemi Tobi suggested quarterly initiatives, While SA Sport Development, Kola Owoseni advised extending services to sports.

The Executive Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Alofe Rapeal and the General Manager, Kolade Osundun emphasized sound health importance, and SSA Agric Extension, Dr. Sikiru Olowoyo thanked the initiator.

    This is a laudable ideal and we would have loved to be carried on twice in a year i.e at the beginning and at the end of the farming season.
    We really appreciate the organiser Hon. Adewole Temitope, SSA, Farm Settlement and Agriculture in support of our amiable Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
