Preliminary reports indicate that the affected church is located in close proximity to a forested area, a factor which underscores the need for heightened vigilance in such locations.
While concerted efforts are ongoing to restore complete normalcy, residents are hereby advised to remain calm, law-abiding, and highly security conscious. The Government particularly urges caution with regard to late-night activities, including vigils, especially in border communities and areas adjoining forest zones.
Conveners of vigils and similar activities are advised to notify security agencies in advance to ensure adequate protection, particularly in border communities and areas close to forests.
Citizens are further encouraged to cooperate fully with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that may assist ongoing operations.
The Ekiti State Government reiterates its unwavering commitment to protecting all residents and ensuring that those responsible for this reprehensible act are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.
