Ekiti State Ministry of Innovation, Science and Digital Economy has transited from analog to digital operations.
The State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Digital Economy, Mr. Seun Fakuade who made this known in Ado Ekiti, said that the development which took effect from Thursday, February 1, 2024 is the first phase of digitizing the operations of Government’s entire MDAs.
Mr. Fakuade explained that the arrangement is aimed at enhancing efficiency and reduce cost to enable more work to be done with less stress.

He said that the Permanent Secretary, Management Staff and most of the middle level management of the Ministry already have the know- how to maneuver the system adding that Government has however commenced some internal trainings for all staff to ensure the success of the new scheme.
The Commissioner assured that workers would be properly equipped stressing that the primary focus is to ensure that they know how to use the tools.
Fakuade said “so Mr. Governor already paid significant amount of money for us to have an effective and working email service and the email service has a lot of functions that allows us to do our work digitally.
“Mr. Governor has also approved that we develop an intra-productive system that allows us to send memos from one Commissioner to another without using paper which is climate friendly and would reduce expenses.
“The digital transition is not an impromptu arrangement. It is phased and not happening in one year or two, it is planned that whilst we are preparing to go digital, there are things like the conditions that we have to do.
“Number one is to digitally store all existing paper documents and files because some of them are pretty old and unnecessarily occupying space. Number two is to train our Civil Servant to make sure that they can compete anywhere in the world.
“Mr. Governor is passionate about having a highly trained and efficient Civil Service”.
