
Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has described the passing away of the pioneer General Manager of Adamimogo 107.7FM, Ido Ekiti, Late Mr. Layi Oyawa as a heartbreaking loss to people in the State and beyond and indeed, the media space in general.
Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun, in a condolence message, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the ace broadcaster who “without a doubt, was a true giant of the airwaves, a voice we welcomed into our homes, our hearts, and our national consciousness for decades. A steady voice on the radio, who leaves a legacy of being an inspiration by example”.
“I am pained by the demise of this highly versatile and accomplished programmer, journalist and “On Air Personality” who made remarkable contribution in both Programmes and News/Current Affairs Departments during his years in the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES).”
“It is worthy of note that he was also a proficient and renowned quizmaster who presided over many intellectual curiosity inspiring quiz competitions on both radio and television since before the creation of Ekiti State from the Old Ondo State in 1996.

The Commissioner expressed his condolences to Oyawa’s family, the Management and Staff of Adanimogo FM, his former colleagues, particularly the leadership and members of RATAWU, the NUJ and the Broadcast Industry at large.
“Let us take solace in the enduring legacy of this man who dedicated his life to Broadcasting, Programming and journalism. The mic may be silent, but Layi Oyawa’s spirit will forever whisper in our hearts and ask “who wants to be my teacher?” transmitting knowledge to future generations.
